At age ten he narrowly escaped Nazi Germany during Kristallnacht, the “night of broken glass.” At age ninety-five, he continues to compose and speak. A recent album of his music sung by Gloriae Dei Cantores, To Speak to Our Time, won a 2023 American Prize.
