AMC Mountains and Music Weekend

Appalachian Mountain Club Mountains and Music weekends bring together 80-100 participants of all ages who share a love of classical music and the outdoors.

When/Where: April 26-28, 2013 at Nature's Classroom at Sargent Center, Hancock, NH (there are typically three weekends each year; the next will be October 18–20, 2013).

Musical activities include choral singing, informal chamber music, Friday evening chorus and orchestra rehearsals, and a Saturday evening musicale with chorus and orchestra. Instrumentalists should have sight-reading skill on their instrument; sight-reading ability and/or choral group singing experience are desirable for choral participants. Listeners are welcome.

Outdoor activities: Hiking trips of various levels will be led by AMC-trained leaders in the beautiful Monadnock region. Local nature walks and early morning birding will also be offered. Sometimes, if we're lucky, the chickadees at the bird-feeding station will eat out of our hands!

Accommodations: Sargent Camp provides clean, comfortable, heated bunkrooms and cabins, including some double rooms. Bed linens, including a pillow and one blanket, plus a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth are provided. You might wish to bring an extra pillow and blanket(s) or sleeping bag.

Food: Wholesome, hearty dinners, lunches and breakfasts are included. If you have dietary requests (which you can indicate on the registration form), the staff will do their best to accommodate your needs. Trail lunches are included. You may bring beer or wine if desired.

Packages (which include lodging, taxes, gratuities, and an activity fee) cover Friday dinner through Sunday lunch:
