Around the Mountain Organ and Choral Festival
An afternoon of workshops, massed choir rehearsal for area singers and an evening public concert of the Fauré Requiem directed by Dr. E. Wayne Abercrombie from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst campus. Concert organ artist Mr. William Ness from Worcester, Massachusetts will play several selections on the Berkshire three-manual pipe organ. The joint collaboration is an effort to bring quality organ and choral music to the area for education, professional development and performing arts enjoyment.
The festival will be held at the United Church of Christ in Keene, NH.
The schedule will include:
- 1:00 pm Registration
- 1:30 pm Welcome
- 2:00-3:30 Separate Choral ad Organ Workshops
- 4:00-5:30 Massed choir rehearsal. Individuals must bring their own copy of the Fauré (Rutter edition) or indicate upon registration the need to borrow one.
- 5:30-6:30 Dinner on your own.
- 6:45 Gather for the concert
- 7:00 Concert
Early registration $40 due by June 15; post-deadline $60; Student $10.
A pre-festival rehearsal for the Fauré could be arranged if there is enough interest. Concert tickets for the public $10.
